Promoting Patriotism

Awards
The chapter presents bronze Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) medals to outstanding high school and college cadets. One recent medalist was Cadet (CDT) Jenna Halpin, Johns Hopkins ROTC. She was recognized as one of the top performing cadets in the battalion from all aspects. She performed exceptionally well in the classroom while also serving as a varsity athlete on the JHU Field Hockey team. CDT Halpin displayed the fine attributes of being disciplined and consistent. Even while working through a serious injury, she attended every ROTC event and supported her teammates. She has already demonstrated the character, leadership, and selfless service expected of seasoned lieutenants.

Wreaths Across America

The Baltimore National Cemetery is one of 3,700 U.S. locations where wreaths are laid during the holidays to express appreciation to service men and women for the sacrifice they make for our country. Baltimore Chapter, NSDAR, members purchase and lay wreaths and volunteer their time to assist the committee at the cemetery.

Honor Flight

In conjunction with the American Legion Dewey Lowman Post 109, Baltimore Chapter, NSDAR, members greet Honor Flights arriving at BWI Airport. The mission of Honor Flight is to celebrate America’s veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War by inviting them to share a day or two of honor at our nation’s memorials. Chapter members welcome the veterans as their flight arrives and express appreciation for the service they performed on our behalf.

Children of the American Revolution
